    "The Garden of Watery Delights"
    2008 pencil, digital

    This is a second panoramic built off of the same coral reef background drawing that kozy made for "Pacific Drift". This time however there is not one narrative but dozens of little moments and characters all rolled into one image. It is kind of just about anything and everything that streams out of our head all plastered into this environment in a little ode to Bosch (hence the title). Animals and mythical creatures, ecological woes, sexual awakening, favorite musicians, sex, drugs, and our dream to farm and live in a storybook cottage by the sea - we just put it all in there and this is how it came out.

    Best viewed LARGE.

    We debuted this at our exhibition at Vallery in Barcelona. We did not produce a poster edition of this image, but Vallery has produced a very limited edition archival print of the piece.

    You can PURCHASE IT HERE.

    They also produced a catalog for that exhibition in which we go through and break down various characters to give viewers a glimpse of what we think about as we create a panoramic.

    Stabilized Video Collages, First Try — 23 days ago

    vincent-b posted a video:

    Stabilized Video Collages, First Try

    While some people are still endlessly yelling at Flickr for the new video features, some others are experimenting around it. Especially the one that were already experimenting with pictures, doing collages, blending, panoramics or any kind of little planets. On of my contact on Flickr is PaintMonkey, a very inspired photographer when it comes to photocollages. His photostream is really amazing and creative. He recently explored around the concept of “long photos” (as Flickr calls its videos) and quickly came with some collages experiments. As I was by my side discovering Motion 3 and its stabilization features, I came up with this Stabilized Collage experiment.I am really impressed about the simplicity and the quality of Motion’s stabilization features. It’s really quick and simple to work with. The first time I really got the stabilization concept was when I saw the stabilized version of the JFK assassination Zapruder’s video. At this time, I guess this has been done by hand, frame after frame, but now it’s as easy as click-and-process.

    You can find an explanation of the process there : www.flickr.com/photos/ibftp/2425396334/in/photostream/

    EDIT June 13th 2008: wow, lots of nice comments, thank you very much. It seems the Woot blog linked this piece as "the possible first Flickr-specific art form". I don't think so, but it's nice though :-)

    Fear = flowers — 27 days ago

    Fear = flowers

    I wish that when *I* got terrified and bolted, I could leave a shower of yellow flower petals exploding in my wake.

    (This one is cropped, but otherwise totally untouched. I wish it was clearer, but considering I hardly had time to even look through the viewfinder, I'll count my blessings.)
